Search Queries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that search. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. Sheridan County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so that a response can be prepared. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Sheridan County Criminal History does not compile, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The website describes how official records can be obtained from the Sheridan County Sheriff, the trial-court clerks, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside businesses power the search boxes. Information submitted to one of those tools falls under that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices. We do not control those choices. Read the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Nebraska agencies, Sheridan County offices, court services, legal resources, or outside search products. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising services may also use their own systems to measure activity across different websites and select ads. That processing does not occur under our direct control.
